Blackwall Tunnel closed in both directions due to ‘ongoing incident’

Police say they have closed the Blackwall Tunnel in both directions due to an ongoing incident. Metropolitan Police are at the two tunnels, that run underneath the River

Thames, in east London. There is no danger to the public. Motorists are advised to avoid the area if possible. The Northbound A102 is closed from Shooters Hill Road

and southbound from Brunswick Road. Traffic is stationary on approaches with northbound queues back to Sun in the Sands and southbound to Gillender Street, Transport for London

(TfL) said in an update. The tunnel is expected to be closed for some time. The Blackwall Tunnel connects Greenwich with Tower Hamlets. Register now for one
